This was a heart-warming romance about small-town Texas, and the characters felt so real. I love that the hero was manly but not in a toxic way. The fact that he was an editor and owned a bookstore was so compelling and, at times, showcased his more sensitive side. The heroine was scarred by a bad marriage, but I'm glad that she didn't let that keep her from taking a chance with Liam, whom she'd loved since childhood. I also like that she was a driven single mom trying to make a better life for her and her daughter, but she wasn't pathological about it--like, she still accepted a little help from her mother while she was trying to get back on her feet.My only criticism of this book is that the heroine did a lot of cooking, which kept making me want to eat--especially pastries. I could practically smell them as Nicole, the heroine, was taking them out of the oven!Overall an excellent read. Highly recommend!!
