Hygge Home Decor - Cozy Danish Interior Design Ideas for Living Room, Bedroom & Office - Create a Warm & Inviting Atmosphere

I enjoyed reading this book immensely (who doesn’t love reading about cozy spaces and how to create more of that in your own home?) and actually finished reading it within hours of starting it. The book contains numerous tips on how to incorporate hygge (and the benefits of doing so) and explanations as to why they work as part of hygge. The primary tips were to use scents, lighting, tonal colors and music to create a cozier/more appeasing atmosphere. I loved reading the section about the entryway as it’s often overlooked (even in my own home). I only wish this book included pictures (so I could better visualize how to personalize my own space) of practicing hygge. Hygge to me is very visual in that I can see the effort that goes into it when I see all the different textures and patterns and I wish I saw pictures of what was being discussed. I love the idea of creating cozier spaces especially a snug. I’ve been creating snugs in my homes my whole life and never knew the word for it or that it was considered hygge! I would have liked more specific information about entertaining since it’s a central focus of hygge but I loved that the author stressed that the dining room has to have the correct table settings as per etiquette, the lighting has to be bright enough to see clearly but not too bright, excess furniture needs to be removed to allow for lots of foot traffic and that the seating needs to be as comfortable as possible to accommodate possible hours of socializing.I can’t wait to incorporate more hygge to attain that cozier atmosphere in my home.
