The author has penned a beautiful and heartwarming story that is full of action which includes murder, grief, a baby, deception, arson, betrayal, kidnapping, secrets, forgiveness and romance. This is Lorinda Sullivan and Franklin Vine's story and the character development is excellent. Lorinda's husband Michael is murdered, and Franklin discovers the body and brings him home. Lorinda chooses to remain in her cabin all alone for the winter despite Franklin inviting her to come and stay at his ranch. Then tragedy strikes and Lorinda's cabin burns to the ground and with the birth of her child imminent and nowhere else to go she accepts Franklin's offer. After Lorinda's baby is born, Franklin falls in love with the baby and proposes a marriage of convenience to Lorinda. There are some surprises as the story moves along.
