At first I was apprehensive. The first listen kind of turned me off. Then it grew on me.Being a huge fan of Tallest Man since King of Spain first introduced me to a powerful, soulful, aggressive style to the folk genre. People who compared him to Dylan didn't even have it right. After consuming the rest of his catalog I grew to feel complete in the music. He was making his own rules and delivering something spectacular.This album is different. Even "There's no leaving now" didn't throw me off as much as this one. I mean, I knew things would be different. I knew he was growing and trying new things. As any artist should. Sagres was nice but it didn't feel like him. I even understand how some can say his passion isn't there. I felt that too at first. Then, it changed. I accepted that he is human and humans change, But his love for music has not. He delivered something breathtaking and wonderful. This album pursues a path that only Kristian is on, yet it spoke to me because I can understand where he's at. I love his new direction, I love this artist. I love this album.
