Bryan Bowers brought SE US autoharp to Seattle & helped create a hippy/folk revival that mirrored my own pilgrimage from NC to OR in the early 1970s. This soundtrack also included Mary McCaslin, the Holy Modal Rounders, Michael Hurley, Seafood Mama, Dan Hicks, Baby Gramps & Jeffrey Frederick & the Clamtones. Along with the better known groups of that age, there is no other music that brings me back to those days of happy mud-farming, or fixing trucks, or lugging some huge old appliance or wood stove (or piano) home with a cheerful group of helpers. The music really helped make it fun.
