I know the protagonist best from his days with John McLaughlin. This is acoustic jazz, not exactly straight ahead though certainly not fusion either. Generally high energy nice original compositions with great playing from a quality band unit. Not sure why this seems totally overlooked, but it shouldn't be since this 2001 project is far better than a lot of what gets labeled as jazz these days.
