I don't know what people were expecting with this movie, it is what it is. I loved it. I caught it on tv, never heard of it, and gave it a watch. I came straight here after and ordered a copy!Having three parts in one movie, each directed by a different person and each one taking on a different tone, can throw you for a bit of a loop. I had no idea that was the case with this movie. I just thought it was weird and quirky. But knowing that was the strategy they used for this movie makes me appreciate it even more and look forward to watching it again. It's an interesting concept and puts this one heads above other genre indie films. The Signal is somewhat advertised as a horror film, but that's a little misleading. Its a little bit of everything, honestly. The second part, which is my personal favorite, seems to totally ditch the horror/suspense motif and veers WAY more towards dark comedy. It's great. This segment alone is what made me love this movie! The way it shows the effects of the titular 'signal' on individuals is brilliantly done by the characters interactions with each other and the world around them. I laughed the whole time. The cast is hit or miss. The shining stars of this movie are definitely A.J. Bowen and Scott Poythress. I've been noticing A.J. Bowen in a few things ever since You're Next. He's not always in the best movies, but he is usually the best part of them. He's one to watch. All in all, five stars from this guy! I'm happily adding it to my collection and look forward to whipping it out for anyone who hasn't seen it yet!
