WOW this is a good book. On my first look through, I marked nearly every page as a recipe that I wanted to try. After working through a few of them, I can say that I'm extremely happy with the results so far.I'm the kind of baker who always adds more spices to recipes - if it calls for a tsp of cinnamon, I add a tbsp. If it calls for 1/4 tsp of nutmeg, I'll add double that. This book, however, uses the right amount of spices - which is to say a LOT. The cookies come out absolutely packed with flavor and aroma.Add in that there are so many utterly unique recipes. A lot of baking books are just all the old standards - a chocolate chip, a peanut butter, an oatmeal raisin, a double chocolate. Snooooooooo-zer. This book, on the other hand, has wonderful, new, and exciting combinations of flavors and recipes. The author is extremely creative in her use of different spices and ingredients, it makes for tons of cookies that I have never seen anywhere else. And add in on top of all everything else that the recipes are clear, well-written, and easy to follow. Most of the recipes are fairly quick as well. One final note: it's not mentioned in the book, but I've found with every recipe that I have tried that it's easy to freeze the dough-balls if you want to make a batch and eat them over a month.Overall, grand-slam. A must-have for everyone who loves spices in their cookies.
