While Scott's combo albums are all very good, especially All In, this solo outing is a true masterpiece. Scott has a unique "voice" that really sounds like no one else, and I am a big fan of solo piano music. Every piece on this album is interesting and engaging. I hate to say beautiful since some will misunderstand that to mean dull. This is not dull music, but it is soothing. Some might say it is background music, but background music is music you can ignore while doing other things. This music is hard to ignore because of its engaging quality. After you learn the songs, you will want to follow every note. I would compare this album to Joe Sample's Invitation album, which is a true classic of relaxed jazz piano, and if you haven't hear that one, check it out. Thanks Scott.
