Reluctantly, I must admit I have never purchased a BBOA album until this one, and the only reason I gave this one a listen was it happened to show up on a new music feed I subscribe to. I thought the cover was interesting and I hit play...WOW!!!I can't recall being so emotionally affected by an album the first time I heard it.The very first song, "Stay On The Gospel Side", which tells the story of a life that began with a hard childhood for a young blind child with inspiration from family and God, is nothing short of amazing... Sad and joyful all at the same time...This is followed by the best song on the album, "Let My Mother Live". It is a delta blues plea from a young man, who has lost his father to a mining accident, for God to allow his mother to live at least until he reaches adulthood so he wouldn't be forced to live in this "Godforsaken world all alone"."Pray For Peace" and their rendition of Dylan's "I Shall Be Released" also hit you right square in the gut with a soulful power punch!Every song in this collection is nothing short of inspiring from the first to the last.Whether you are a new fan or have been listening to these guys for years, this is one must have record.
