How can I even begin to write this review to say how much I loved Cody and Autumn both as individuals and as a couple? I swear to you that Author Lissanne Jones has created the most perfect of burgeoning relationships that we see grow naturally into a deep love with plenty of steam and heat, that is subsequently undermined by the actions of an abusive bitter old man. Abuse isn’t always physical. It’s the emotional and verbal abuse that leaves the deepest of unseen scars, and as much as her mother tried to protect and uplift her daughter, Autumn had been left deeply hurt by the constant stream of controlling behaviour, and abusive tirades from her father. This love story is one that I had been anticipating since reading the first book in the Being Home duet about the gorgeous Whittaker twins, Luke and Cody. In Coming Home, we met Deputy Sheriff Cody Whittaker and I literally felt the heated looks he’d been giving to Autumn Grant, Evie’s best friend. And while these books are stand-a-lones, this is a close and interconnected family and the books are fantastic, so I highly recommend that both are read.Lissanne Jones’ writing is so rich that it facilitates a deep relationship with her characters so I truly I feel you’d be missing out if you didn’t start with Coming Home and get to know the 30 minutes older twin, Luke Whittaker and his second chance love Evie first.Cody was perfect. He was caring and alpha without being overbearing. He, Luke and their family contributed to the town as much as they lived within it and he knew what Autumn and her mother had to put up with on the daily from Jed Grant, and knew what he was up against. Knew that she might even say no, but he still just had to ask her out. Everything he did was for her, at her pace, and for her comfort level. To see her blossom as a person into confidence that should rightfully be hers was just the best. “Love is patient, love is kind ... Love never fails” this is the epitome of Luke’s unconditional love for Autumn, and when their love moved from emotional to physical, this book contained some of the most beautiful love scenes that I've read. They were beautiful, highly steamy, naughty, and easy to read without leaving me feeling like a dirty perv needing a shower, if you know what I mean. They felt natural, not forced.I loved everything about this book and believe that it’s Ms Jones best and most emotional yet. Don’t believe for a moment that her father let things go quietly. What an amazing small town forbidden-love read. Absolutely 5 stars ?
