I am a stay at home mother of three children 5 and under. I'd never heard Doctot Laura on the radio or read amy of her books. I have to say that I found this book in the middle of an unmotivated, depressing day that found me caught up in the same ol same ol! It was a fantastic fund and gave me a much needed breath of fresh air. It's rare in modern society to hear people promoting the "old fashioned" values of the 1950s and 60s when women were mostly homemakers and held a position of superiority in the household. So much emphasis is placed on material values that morals and values of true character and substance have gone the way side. I'm not under any impression that my children will grow into perfect adults but I have reaffirmed that my choice to be fully involved with most every part of their lives is a great choice. Thanks Dr. Laura for letting all the SAHMS know that there is plenty of evidence to support a sense of security in choosing to put your children and just as importantly your husband first. I can read this book and feel that even on the most lost and unproductive days!
