I am so thankful to God for inspiring Fr. James Brent to write The Father’s House. I’ve spent a good part of my life trying to figure out what the purpose of it is, and Fr. James flipped the light switch on for me. Knowing that the purpose of life is to know God, to enjoy the friendship of God our Father, has illuminated my whole life. Now I know that everything I am and everything I do has God as the purpose. The section that explains the Beatitudes and why we want to live according to them – in order to become Christ – was extremely enlightening. The chapter on the Deep Heart, and recognizing and resisting disordered thoughts and passions, has been life-changing. I am very grateful for the introduction to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity as well. She has led me on a journey of learning contemplative prayer and surrendering to God’s will. To know that the Holy Trinity dwells in my heart while I remain in a state of grace with God has transformed literally everything about how I live and how I see others. Thank you, Fr. James. This book is a treasure.
