I call this book "perfect counsel" because it is the counsel of Christ. This book is full of AMAZING tips for creating a joyful home atmosphere. In this book you will certainly find wise advice for how to continually be a joyful mother and create a positive home full of joy.But what makes this book perfect is that it tells you the one thing that ALL self-help books should tell you, but rarely do: You could try to do every suggestion in the book, but nothing will be accomplished unless you are committed to Jesus Christ. Not "I said a prayer and I'm saved committed," but "Every moment I live I try to be pleasing to my Lord" committed. This book is truly the most helpful book I have ever seen written because it not only tells you that you need Christ, but it fully explains how, and why. It also helps you see if you really are committed to Christ or not--or if you have just been giving "lip service" or being religious in the name of Christ."There is no help for anything outside of Christ--not for your home, your marriage, your mental health, raising your children--not for any problem you come across. This book does a wonderful job of explaining the vital principal behind this--because the only chance of success that you will truly be helped is, of course, through your ultimate commitment to knowing and serving Jesus Christ.Haven't you ever wondered why you could be a "Christian" but not experience a fullness of joy or freedom from sin? This book will help explain the only reason why joy could be elusive from you and your home. The lack of Christ.Mrs. Carrier's personal testimony is wonderful to read, and very touching. Her personal experience and testimony speaks volumes and many will relate. Her experience and the methods that she shares in which to accomplish some of her goals are very wise and practical--and flexible for all sizes of families, all ages of children. Her candid speech pleads sweetly for all to know what she knows and continues to learn: the true joy that comes through knowing Jesus, and how this relationship, when understood correctly, really will transform yourself, your children, your marriage, and your home.
