This is an absolutely gorgeous album. I don't generally bother to write reviews, but I've been listening to The Wooden Sky's "If I Don't Come Home You'll Know I'm Gone" and "Every Child a Daughter Every Moon a Sun" regularly for over a year now and they still sound fresh to me. I generally get bored with albums pretty quickly and rarely look back, save for a quick dose of nostalgia but these aren't you're average albums. There's a vulnerability and richness to these songs in terms of both their content and their orchestration that rewards listeners upon each successive listen. There's also an evocative economy to many of the tracks and you get the feeling that every layer adds something meaningful to the song and that it would be diminished by any sort of change. I love almost everything about both of these albums. I don't understand how this band isn't one of the biggest names in the music industry right now. Two successive albums of this caliber should have brought them more attention than they seemed to have received up to this point. Do yourself a favor and check them out sooner rather than later.
