Now and then a book just hits my sweet spot. DON'T GO HOME did it this week for me. After the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I turned to Carolyn Hart for a steady, reliably enjoyable novel, one with no quirks or jerks to jangle already edgy nerves. Once I opened it, I left instruction manuals, new devices, and boxes waiting to be filled with decorations and lights and holiday dish ware, and settled into a small town world with a host of characters and a delicious plot. Hart's books often lift me out of the humdrum. I would almost term them medicinal, that is, just what the doctor ordered.
