One of the cover blurbs on this book uses the phrase “master storyteller” to describe the author. I could not agree more. He weaves a complicated, multi-generational, cross-culture picture of a family and the individuals that make the family up. Nature and environment play a large role in the story, and he paints pictures of the Nebraska and other settings that are so important to the characters and to the overall story. The three main individuals that each get a first-person role in different components of the book are engaging and sympathetic. I will be giving my copy to family members with a strong recommendation!
